How To Get Started

Call 1.800.870.5940 and leave a confidential message including your name, where you live and your phone number. You will be contacted within 48 hours to be matched up with a therapist in your area. The therapist will call you to arrange an initial consultation at his/her private office. Our therapists have offices throughout the state of New Jersey and specialize in a variety of fields.

What is the Psychotherapy Center

The Psychotherapy Center (PC) is the community service agency of The Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey since 1987. To Learn more about CPPNJ go to www.cppnj.org . The PC provides affordable, intensive, quality psychotherapy for adults who either do not have insurance or prefer to go outside managed care. For those seeking couples, family or child therapy referral suggestions can be provided.

Fees And Scheduling

The Psychotherapy Center works on a fee-for-service basis and we use a sliding scale that adjusts according to income and family size. The scale starts at $40.00 per session and is based on necessity. Appointments are scheduled with individual therapists and will be held in their private offices. You will hear more information about this process when you speak with one of our screeners who will assist you in finding a therapist that best meets your needs.

Who are the Therapists

Our therapists are all New Jersey state-licensed mental health professionals and have their own private practices. They are engaged in advanced psychotherapy training that prepares them to provide therapy above and beyond that offered by university training.

Psychoanalytic therapy
is an in-depth learning experience that provides an opportunity to understand yourself in a growth-promoting, supportive environment. An increased understanding of yourself and your circumstances permits you to cope and make choices with more freedom and creativity.

Our work with people over the years has shown that, given the care people need, they learn healthier ways to cope with problems in their lives. The PC accepts inquiries from everyone regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, cultural affiliation, religion or disability.

We look forward to hearing from you.
